We believe that restoring the connection between humans and the more-than-human world is key to sustaining wellbeing. We also believe that gathering in community provides mutual aid, support, challenge, and depth to this spiritual practice of restoration and healing.
Founded in 2023 in the spirit of the Church of the Wild, Hearth Cville invites all spiritually curious folks to join us for wanderings in nature year-round.
NEXT WANDERING: Summer Solstice, Saturday June 20, 2026, 6:30 p.m. at Botanical Garden of the Piedmont.

- The majority of our time together (~30 minutes) will be spent in semi-solitary communion with nature, so dress for whatever amount of sitting, walking, crawling, lying down, etc. you may wish to engage in.
- For the “sermon,” all are invited to share experiences/reflections/observations.
- Closing ceremony and departure 7:30 p.m.
You are very welcome to be as active/social or as passive/introverted as you like throughout our gatherings.
Bring your own seat and anything else you may need to be comfortable. We meet rain or shine.
We meet four times in a year, on the Equinoxes and Solstices to wander at various locations around Charlottesville, VA.
Wanderings start with informal conversation. Facilitators then offer suggestions to guide folks into silence with one another and into communion with nature. We close with conversation and sharing in a variety of formats.
