Spirituality in Nature
Discussion & Practice
$45 for all three sessions
Three Fridays: March 31, April 21, & May 12
6-7:15 p.m.

NOW Yoga, 614 Forest Street, Charlottesville, VA 22903

Have you ever sensed something sacred about your time in nature? Are you curious about the connections between nature and spirituality?

Join fellow seekers– religious or not– for guided discussion and practice with Karolyn Kinane, Ph.D., scholar-practitioner of contemplative spirituality. The book “Church of the Wild” by Victoria Loorz, available as e-book, audio-book, and paperback, will structure our gatherings, paced as one chapter a week.

Each gathering will begin or end with a nature-connection practice in the Yoga yard, weather permitting. We ask that participants attend all three sessions to build community and share wisdom. Option to join text/email thread for additional inspiration and community between sessions.

Chapter 1-3 Friday March 31

Have you ever sensed something sacred about your time in nature? Are you curious about the connections between nature and spirituality? Join us for a contemplative practice designed to inspire conversation between humans and the natural world. Participants will be invited to try a guided “wandering” through the Botanical Garden of the Piedmont and share their experiences with others. Dress for walking outdoors; bring a notebook and pen or pencil. If you have a portable chair you like, bring that, too. Attend one or both sessions!

Karolyn Kinane, Ph.D., and Anthony DeMauro, Ph.D., have been practicing and teaching “contemplation in everyday life” for a combined 20+ years. They are co-founders of HearthCville, a place for earth and soul connection.
